BORM - Business Object Relation Modeling
BORM is an object-oriented and process-based analysis and design methodology, which has proved to be effective in the development of business systems. The effectiveness gained is largely due to an unified and simple method for presenting necessary aspects of the relevant business model, which can be simulated, verified and validated for subsequent software implementation. The BORM methodology makes extensive use of business process modeling towards the area of software engineering. This paper outlines BORM and presents it on an application example created in Craft.CASE analysis and modeling tool
SiPM Gain Stabilization Studies for Adaptive Power Supply
We present herein gain stabilization studies of SiPMs using a climate chamber
at CERN. We present results for four detectors not tested before, three from
Hamamatsu and one from KETEK. Two of the Hamamatsu SiPMs are novel sensors with
trenches that reduce cross talk. We use an improved readout system with a
digital oscilloscope controlled with a dedicated LabView program. We improved
and automized the analysis to deal with large datasets. We have measured the
gain-versus-bias-voltage dependence at fixed temperature and
gain-versus-temperature dependence at fixed bias voltage to determine the bias
voltage dependence on temperature for stable gain. We show that the gain
remains stable to better than in the
temperature range if the bias voltage is properly adjusted with temperature.Comment: 14 pages, 41 figures, Talk presented at the International Workshop on

The Convergence of a Transition Economy: The Case of the Czech Republic
In this paper we develop a two-country dynamic general equilibrium model by means of which we seek to explain the long-run paths of a converging emerging market economy. The modelâs novel feature is the inclusion of quality investment to the standard framework of applied general equilibrium two-country models. This extension proves crucial ingredient for explanation of the trend in real exchange rate. Using a case study calibration of productivity and deep parameters for the Czech economy we demonstrate the ability of the model to consistently explain dynamics in key macroeconomic variables that are essential inputs for commonly used âgap modelsâ in monetary policy practice.Convergence, monetary policy, two-country modeling.
Utjecaj LTE sustava zasnovanog na kognitivnoj radio tehnologiji na DVB-T2 sustav zasnovan na metodi diverzifikacije
In recent years, the development of advanced wireless communication systems has been rapidly progressing. In Europe, the 2nd Generation Terrestrial Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB-T2) and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) are the most promising techniques to provide multimedia services efficiently (in flexible quality and with high spectrum efficiency). The purpose of this work is to explore possible influences of the LTE {uplink services}, using cognitive radio (CR) technology, on the area which is covered by DVB-T2 services. In the case of DVB-T2, both single-input single-output (SISO) and multiple-input single-output (MISO) transmission techniques are considered. The defined coexistence scenarios are measured with an appropriate measurement testbed. The performance of the received TV signal is evaluated on its physical layer (PHY) level. The obtained results allow better understand the influence of LTE system on DVB-T2 which is using diversity technique in the same RF channel (co-channel coexistence). One of the main results is that there are the same requirements on the Forward Error Correction (FEC) decoding process in the DVB-T2 receiver, when power imbalances between TV transmitters (an both SISO and MISO modes) are considered at the interfering LTE signal. This finding was also proved by analysis of variance (ANOVA).U posljednje vrijeme se znatno ubrzao razvoj naprednih beĆŸiÄnih komunikacijskih sustava. U Europi metode prijenosa signala zasnovane na DVB-T2 (eng. 2nd Generation Terrestrial Digital Video Broadcasting) i LTE (eng. Long-Term Evolution) metodama najviĆĄe obeÄavaju u podruÄju uÄinkovitog pruĆŸanja multimedijalnih usluga (s prilagodivom kvalitetom i s visokom uÄinkovitosti spektra). U ovom radu je razmotrena moguÄnost koriĆĄtenja LTE signala uzlazne veze, uz koriĆĄtenje kognitivne radio tehnologije, u podruÄju pokrivenom DVB-T2 signalom. Razmotrene su metode prijenosa DVB-T2 signala s jednim ulazom i jednim izlazom (eng. Single-Input Single-Output, SISO) te viĆĄe ulaza i jednim izlazom (eng. Multiple-Input Single-Output, MISO). Definirani su scenariji koegzistencije i isti su izmjereni koriĆĄtenjem prikladnog mjernog ispitnog stola.
The Comet Interceptor Mission
Here we describe the novel, multi-point Comet Interceptor mission. It is dedicated to the exploration of a little-processed long-period comet, possibly entering the inner Solar System for the first time, or to encounter an interstellar object originating at another star. The objectives of the mission are to address the following questions: What are the surface composition, shape, morphology, and structure of the target object? What is the composition of the gas and dust in the coma, its connection to the nucleus, and the nature of its interaction with the solar wind? The mission was proposed to the European Space Agency in 2018, and formally adopted by the agency in June 2022, for launch in 2029 together with the Ariel mission. Comet Interceptor will take advantage of the opportunity presented by ESAâs F-Class call for fast, flexible, low-cost missions to which it was proposed. The call required a launch to a halo orbit around the Sun-Earth L2 point. The mission can take advantage of this placement to wait for the discovery of a suitable comet reachable with its minimum ÎV capability of 600 msâ1. Comet Interceptor will be unique in encountering and studying, at a nominal closest approach distance of 1000 km, a comet that represents a near-pristine sample of material from the formation of the Solar System. It will also add a capability that no previous cometary mission has had, which is to deploy two sub-probes â B1, provided by the Japanese space agency, JAXA, and B2 â that will follow different trajectories through the coma. While the main probe passes at a nominal 1000 km distance, probes B1 and B2 will follow different chords through the coma at distances of 850 km and 400 km, respectively. The result will be unique, simultaneous, spatially resolved information of the 3-dimensional properties of the target comet and its interaction with the space environment. We present the missionâs science background leading to these objectives, as well as an overview of the scientific instruments, mission design, and schedule
Hybrid Analog Computer for Modeling Nonlinear Dynamical Systems: The Complete Cookbook
This paper describes a design process for a universal development kit based on an analog computer concept that can model the dynamics of an arbitrarily complex dynamical system up to the fourth order. The constructed development kit contains digital blocks and associated analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters (ADCs and DAC), such that multiple-segmented piecewise-linear inputâoutput characteristics can be used for the synthesis of the prescribed mathematical model. Polynomial inputâoutput curves can be implemented easily by four-quadrant analog multipliers. The proposed kit was verified through several experimental scenarios, starting with simple sinusoidal oscillators and ending with generators of continuous-time robust chaotic attractors. The description of each individual part of the development kit is accompanied by links to technical documentation, allowing skilled readers in the construction of electronic systems to replicate the proposed functional example. For this purpose, the electrical scheme of the hybrid analog computer and all important source codes are available online
